Created Issue: Image thumbnails are not displayed [6613]

Hi,
I used notes for gallery to retrieve image from the directories. It worked fined in my localhost or local server,but when i upload in the production server it does not show the thumbnails, instead it shows just small boxes in a straightline and continue outside the page. I have this error when i host my APP, in develop mode work fine, but in the host i hav this error.

When I view my site in FIrefox or IE8, it looks good. But when I view in IE9, the gallery is rendered as a single column of thumbnails, centered on the page. Clicking on a thumbnail (only in IE9) doesn't seem to do anything.

The control loads totally scrambled in IE9 beta, IE9 standards: the F12 debugger shows 4 times the warning: "SEC7113: CSS was ignored due to mime type mismatch". In fact, the CSS page in the debugger is empty.
In IE8 standards my page renders well, then I created 4 CSS files from the CSS page of F12 debugger. I included them in my web site, then I manually added the HREFs in my page <head>. Back to IE9 standards, now the 4 warnings are still raised but the page is rendered well.
Hope this helps to fix the issue.

In the AssemblyInfo.cs look out for these lines:

I am experiencing the same issue. With IE8 it works fine but not with IE9.

I really like this control but it appears that even your demonstration site is no longer working. Are others experiencing the same problem?

Nevermind, changing httphandlers to just handlers fixed the thumbnail problem. In IE9 the lightbox does not work now.

If we use your project on a sub web site :

The gallery class throw an exception on the Get Files property.

Source of the problem :
Class Gallery - function AddFileRecursively

you are using these lines :
int index = directory.FullName.Replace("\\", "/").IndexOf(this.FolderUrl);
fileNames.Add((directory.FullName.Replace("\\", "/").Substring(index) + "/" + fi.Name).Replace("//", "/"));

instead of that, use this :
declare these private members : String appPhysicalPath, appUrlPath
Initialize them in the gallery constructor
then,
replace fileNames.Add( ... ) with
fileNames.Add(fi.FullName.Replace(appPhysicalPath,appUrlPath).Replace("\\", "/"));

OK - fixed my problem by using :

[assembly: WebResource("NotesFor.css.nf.lightbox.css", "text/css", PerformSubstitution = true)]
[assembly: WebResource("NotesFor.css.album.css", "text/css")]

Still have a question though -- is there a way to control the size of the full image other than creating the images in the target forlder to a specific size?

thanks for this info.

Unfortunately it only half solved my problem.

I had an issue where in Chrome and safarai the gallery would simply appear as a set of vertical bullet points and no links to the images.

After applying the fix above, the gallery appears in the correct format and the link urls appear when I hover over a thumbnail

BUT clicking the thumbnail does not result in the full image being displayed in any browser :( (before the change the gallery behaved correctly in Firefox and IE)

Hello all. In my local environment NotesForGallery2.0 works fine. Very impressive to, it is awesome, kudos to codeplex. However, when I run it from GoDaddy's servers I get:
[SecurityException: That assembly does not allow partially trusted callers.]
I put in a ticket with GoDaddy. They responded:
Our ASP.NET 3.5 shared hosting servers use the default Medium trust level.
I did some research and found out that, at least the way I understand it is that <assembly: System.Security.AllowPartiallyTrustedCallersAttribute()>
is needed to run in a medium security environment.(Which is what GoDaddy and Framework 3.5 require as default).
I downloaded the NotesForGallery2.0 Source Code and added
using System.Security;
[assembly: AllowPartiallyTrustedCallers]
to the NotesForGalley\Properties\AssemblyInfo.cs file.
Then copied the whole source code folder to a folder in my root of my site and got the same message. I also commented out
<authentication mode="Windows"/>
because that was the first error I got.

Any ideas. I think I am running uphill because If GoDaddy has there server set to medium trust level, I am not sure I can get around it, but I know there is a lot of ppl out there that know a whole lot more than me. If your one of those ppl, please help!!!!

I'm sorry if this is the wrong place for this but I am VERY confused.
I am trying to to resolve an issue I have been experiencing with receiving errors -

Trying to address this I decided to download the source again and 'Start from Scratch'
So I downloaded using the 'Latest version' Download link from http://notesforgallery.codeplex.com/SourceControl/list/changesets
The zip file contains NotesForGalleryFx2.0 and NotesForgalleryFx3.5 --- which should I be using?
And in each there is a folder NotesforGallery and TestNotes for gallery????

And now excuse the really basic question -- If I want to rebuild the DLL, Do I open the NotesForgalleryFxn.n folder as a project in VWD, make changes, build the project and then use the .dll created??

As all works Ok on my local PC but fails on the 'Live System' I guess I still have a trust issue? the thunbnail generation is failing because it does not have enough permissions / trust???? (I still just get empty boxes)

OK - I used the Notes for gallery FX3.5 - opened as a project and clicked on Build>Build NotesForGalleryt in VWD. A notesforgallery dll was created in the TestNotesForgallery Bin folder.
I placed this in my website in the bin folder, deleted the reference to the old dll and added a reference to the new one.
All works well on my test PC and I am reasonably confident I have changed what is there as the gallery now has a grey background and the images for next, prev etc have changed.
Ehen I load it to my live site I get the attached page when I navigate to it. Clicking one of the empty boxes correctly displays the appropriate image as expected.

Hi,
I am using the notesforgallery control to provide a simple gallery in a website.
All worked well on my test site but when I loaded it up to my ISP navigating to the page with the control caused an error:
That assembly does not allow partially trusted callers.

Research indicated that I needed to have the control 'unsigned'
so I have downloaded the source for notesforgallery and opened the NotesForGallery.csproj file in the folder notesforgallery as a project in VWD.
In the properties page I unchecked the 'Sign the assembly' box on the signing tab. I then selected Build>Build NotesForgallery
The build appeared to have succedded indicating the path for the dll as
C:\Websites\Controls\NotesForGallery-src\NotesForGallery\NotesForGallery\bin\Debug\Note sForGallery.dll
I added this dll and the notesforgalery.pdb file in the folder to the bin folder in my website using rightclick>add existing item.
I then used website>add reference and browsed to the bin directory to locate notesforgallery.dll
I then did Build>rebuild website.
A test on my local PC still works perfectly (as indeed it did before)
Then I loaded the complete new bin directory to the live site and the page containing the control.
Now when I navigate to the page containing the control I do not get an error but the thumbnails do not display -- just a small empty 'box'. If I click on any box the appropriate image is correctly displayed.
So, thumbnail handler not working? but why?
In my web.config (as per instructions) I have the statement
<add verb="*" path="ThumbnailHandler.ashx" type="NotesFor.ThumbnailHandler, NotesForGallery"/>
Searching for ThumbnailHandler.ashx showed a reference to it in Gallery.cs in the control source and there is also a thumbnail.cs but no .ashx?
Presumably I haven't recompiled it properly or uploaded it correctly but I canot see where I have made my mistake?
